Psalms - 52-55
I am an olive tree, growing green in God’s house.

I trusted  in the generous mercy of God then & now...

God sticks his head out from heaven.  He looks around. He’s looking for someone not stupid-- one man, even, God-expectant, just one God-ready woman.  He comes up empty.    A string of zeros.  Useless, unshepherded sheep, taking turns to be Shepherd.  The ninety and nine follow the one... God for your sake, help me!  Use your influence to clear me.

Listen God--I’m desperate.  Don’t be too busy to hear me... Oh look, God is right here helping!  God’s on my side..I’m ready now to worship, so ready. I thank you, God-- you’re so good.  You got me out of every scrape, and I saw my enemies get it...

I call to God; God will help me.  At dusk, dawn and noon I sigh deep sighs--he hears, he rescues.  My life is well and whole, secure in the middle of danger.

Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders--he’ll carry the load, he’ll help you out.  He’ll never let good people topple into ruin.  I trust you.

I Timothy 2
The first thing I want you to do is pray!

Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation...

God wants not only us, but everyone saved...

This, and this only, has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.

Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray-- this salvation only comes to those who continue in faith, love, & holiness gathering it all into maturity.
