The Wyckoff Reformed Church has always been a community that has taken the call to mission seriously. There are a variety of ways that people can plug into the mission efforts of the church and serve the Lord.
We currently support about 30 different missions--some local, some national and some international. Many of these missions are helped through financial contributions that make possible the works we support: medical, education, biblical translations, food, clothing, comparative religious studies, and clean water to name a few.
We also roll up our sleeves and get more directly involved in community and national projects. Today we support and work alongside many in their acts of mercy, service, and outreach through:
Food Pantry - Partnering with Northside Chapel we send over 70 bags of food a week to help feed the hungry in North Paterson, NJ.
Paterson Habitat for Humanity – For more than a decade have raised funds to build affordable homes in Paterson through our annual Habitat walk. Our pastors and members have also helped build Habitat homes.
Mission Trips – Every year our High School youth spend a week following Jesus by serving those who are in need. We also have occasional mission trips for adults.
Walk-in Dinners – Every other month we cook and serve meals for about a hundred people at the Hackensack homeless shelter.
Clean Up – We periodically help clean, paint, and or trim the homes and yards of people in Wyckoff who are unable to do so for themselves.
There are of course the usual in-house opportunities: teaching, repairs, singing, visiting, calling, driving, planting...
There are many other hands-on activities at The Wyckoff Reformed Church for people to use their gifts and abilities. All are welcome to come and serve God alongside us.
